- Trade: Some people trade books with friends when they finish reading them.
- Scribes: Scribes were the people in ancient Egypt who learned to write and recorded history.
- Religion: As part of the Egyptian religion, people worshiped many different gods and goddesses.
- Caravan: The caravan of seven trucks drove slowly along the highway during the snowstorm.
- Flooding: The heavy rains caused the flooding of the river.
- Hieroglyphs: The hieroglyphs were the kind of writing used in ancient Egypt.
- Pyramid: A pyramid is a structure with triangular sides.
- Sphinx: The Sphinx is an imaginary creature with the body of a lion and head of a person.
- Pharaoh: The pharaoh was the most powerful person in Egypt, like a king.
- Archaeologist: The archaeologist helped uncover parts of the ancient city to learn about the way people lived long ago. Howard Carter was the archaeologist who found Tutankhamun's tomb.
- Symbols: The letters of our alphabet are symbols for sounds.
- Specific: A strawberry is a specific type of fruit.
- Visible: Something we can see. Light waves are visible. Sound waves are NOT visible.
- Tradition: If a family celebrates the Fourth of July every year by watching the fireworks, that is a tradition.
- Similarities: There are many similarities between cars and trucks because they are alike in many ways.
